Permaculture: the design of regenerative, self-sustaining and resilient natural systems that fulfil human needs such as food, shelter, health, social, cultural and psychological needs whilst acknowledging and providing for the needs of all ecosystems and caring for the Earth. The full course includes modules on cultivated ecology, climates, soils, water in landscape, forests and trees, and community development. Able participants will have the opportunity to receive the internationally recognized Permaculture design certificate on the completion of the course and the presentation of their own individual and/or group design work;
Local Environmental Education: information about the local environment, including species identification, ecosystem dynamics and function, and awareness and understanding of environmental issues;
Conservation and Resource Management: taking responsibility for and stewardship of the environment including techniques for the management, conservation and regeneration of natural landscapes and their resources;
Eco / Natural Building Practices: minimal impact building techniques that support the environment using natural or waste materials;
Hands-on Science Projects: real-life science that takes place outdoors instead of in the classroom in a hands-on and practical way;
Performing Arts: expressing oneself in a creative and artistic way through theatre, speech and movement;
Personal Development: mindfulness, meditation, group activities, peace education and self-exploration in nature;
Craft Skills: using natural materials such as wood as well as upcycling waste products to create both useful and artistic items;
Cultural Awareness Studies: learning about environment, sustainability and permaculture in different countries and cultures.
